Calvary: What’s a God like you doing in a place like this?

“What’s with the cross, man?” A good question when it comes to Christianity! Why would a belief system that preaches peace and love have as its central symbol an instrument of torture and death?

And if Jesus really was the Son of God, what on earth was he doing hanging on that cross?

These are the issues we will be exploring in the coming weeks as we approach Easter. As we come to Calvary, we want to discover what God could have been doing in a place like that, and what the cross means for us today.
