Worship from the Heart

Read 1 Sam. 24:18-24

Not: “Did I enjoy the worship service this morning?”

But: “Did I put my whole heart and soul into it?”

Did it cost me something?

Jesus: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind.

Worship is not about art – it’s about heart. Worship needs to be from the heart.

Isaiah 29:13 These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.

Don Hustad:

A worship service is not planned for the pleasure of the congregation or for the gratification of the singers and worship leader. They are merely the prompters who put words of response in our minds and underline them with the language of music.

It’s up to us to respond with our hearts.
